1. (a) Write a Story beginning.

Write an essay to prove this assertion.
3. (a) The short story: (20 Marks)
Half a Day and other stories
Using illustrations from Moyez G. Vassanji’s
‘Breaking Loose’ write a composition explaining the significance of the title to the story.

(b) Shreds of Tenderness by John Ruganda.
Odie is the villain in John Ruganda’s ‘Shreds of Tenderness.’
Write an essay arguing for this statement.
Or
(c) Homestretch by Velma Pollard.
Write an essay explaining the problems Brenda encountered outside Jamaica and the
solutions she came up with to solve these problems.
