The questions have been divided into THREE sections. Answer only ONE question
from each section.
SECTION I
Q. 1 What do you understand by the term pre-historic art? Discuss the
characteristics of upper Palaeolithic art works and analyse one sculpture and
one paining from this period.

Q. 2 Greek art has been divided into four styles/period namely;

(a)
Archaic vase painting

(b)
Archaic sculpture

(c)
Classical sculpture and

(d)
Hellenistic sculpture.





Write briefly about each style/period and identify two (2) artworks of each
style.

Q. 3. Although the Romans have been called the copy-antos for the Greeks, they
eventually developed their own unique styles of art. Discuss Roman art,
giving good examples of Greek influence and unique Roman styles.

especially in depicting the Gospel Books. Describe and anlyse the
manuscripts of this period.

Q. 8 Identify the differences between the Gothic art and the Renaissance in terms of
sculptures and the paintings. Give examples to support your points.
