SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS (30 MARKS)
Instructions:
Answer ALL of the questions.

Briefly describe with an example what a cost benefit analysis is and the formula you would use to calculate and determine if a project is viable.

2.
Give a definition of monitoring and briefly describe its purposes within projects.

3.
Briefly describe the categories for writing up a project/programme report.

4.
Describe briefly how a SWOT analysis is used to determine the capacity of the planning team.

5.
Briefly describe the purposes of a functional budget and draw a functional budget showing the categories within it.

SECTION B:
LONG ANSWER QUESTIONS (40 MARKS)
Instructions:
Answer only TWO of the following four questions.

You have been asked by some members of the community to develop a school feeding programme. Describe very clearly the philosophical issues which must be considered by the planning team prior to planning the actual project.

7.
You have been requested to evaluate the construction of a new classroom. Discuss fully with examples the six questions that your evaluating team should answer in planning for the evaluation.

8.
You have been asked to develop a school library. With clear description and examples, discuss the ten steps for pragmatic planning of this project.

9.
You have been given the opportunity to monitor the feeding programme in 6. above. Describe with examples the monitoring system you would set up, including your focus in monitoring and the methods you would use in the monitoring process.
