1. (a) Explain briefly the term ‘copyright' (5 marks)

2. One of the dangers facing a reporter whose beat is the courts is the ‘contempt of court’.
(a) Explain what ‘contempt of court’ means. (8 marks)

(b) Explain how you would advice a new reporter on how to avoid falling into the trap of ‘contempt of court’. (9.5 marks)

3. A lady who had lost her baby through natural death met a doctor who had been treating her baby and shouted these words to her in the street and in the presence of some of her professional colleagues. “You murderer, you have killed my baby, you are a quack.” Should the doctor decide to sue the lady, what would she sue for and how would she justify
her action? (17.5 marks)

4. A journalist is asked by police to suppress a story about a kidnap in order to protect the victim. Explain what he or she should do according to theory of utilitarianism.
