Answer ALL questions.

2. The following ten words will be fingerspelled to you one to one by the examiner. Each word will be fingerspelled twice. (Each word ½ a mark)

3. The following seven sentences will be signed to the candidates one by one by the examiner. Each sentence will be signed twice.
(Each sentence will be 2 marks)

4. The following six sentences will be fingerspelled to the students one by one by
the examiner. Each sentence will be signed twice. (Each sentence 1 mark)


SECTION II (40 MARKS)
1. Explain in details the origin and development of sign language and fingerspelling.
(20 marks)

2. State with relevant examples how sign language got established in Kenya in 1950’s. (20 marks)

. Explain with relevant examples the different methods of communication one can use in teaching pupils with hearing impaired in the classroom. (20 marks)

4. Discuss with relevant examples the difference between the oral method and the manual method of communication. (20 marks)
