Agroforestry involves planting of trees near crops.
This practice aims at maximizing the land use thus benefiting from both plants and crops yield.
Apart from the products associated with the trees and food crops,agroforestry offers the following benefits to the farm:
(i)It reduces soil erosion
(ii)The trees restore soil fertility
(iii)Trees may also eliminate the harmful effects of herbicides and insecticides
Admission shall be granted to holders of any one of the qualifications below:
(a)A minimum of C+ in KCSE with C in each of the subjects below:
(i)Biology
(ii)Geography
(iii)Chemistry
(iv)Physics
(v)English
(vi)English
(b)A diploma in the discipline above or any relevant field from a reputable institution with a credit pass.
(c)A-level qualifications with two principal passes and a subsidiary pass in any of the subjects below:
(i)Chemistry
(ii)Geography
(iii)Maths
(iv)Physics
(v)Biology
