About African Institute for Capacity Development
The idea of a Base for African Human Capacity Building (BAHCB) was addressed at the 2nd Tokyo International Conference for African Development (TICAD ll) of October 1998 in Tokyo, Japan.The institute
is financed by Tanzania,Uganda and Kenya with the support of the Japanese government through Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA). It is located at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, JKUAT, in Juja. The institute's mission is to link Knowledge to application within communities in partner countries in Africa in order to reduce poverty.
