It is a program designed to equip
students with knowledge needed
in understanding growth processes
that take place in a child.Those who
graduate with this program may work
as early childhood studies teachers,
or education experts.
Entry requirements
- Interested students must have scored
a C+ in KCSE.In addition,they must have
passed in the subjects below:
(a)C in English or kiswahili
(b)C in either chemistry,physics,physical science or maths
(c)C in one of the following following:Biology or biological sciences,
religious education or social education and ethics,geography,history and government.
Those holding any one of the following qualifications will be considered for admission:
(i)A minimum of C in KCSE or KCE Division II or RACE I principal and 2 Subsidiary passes plus
PI Teachers' Certificate.
(ii)A minimum of C in KCSE or KCE Division II or KACE 1 principal and 2 subsidiary passes plus
Certificate in ECDE teaching from a reputable examining body
(iii)Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education from a recognized examining body.
(iv)KACE or its equivalent with at least 2 principal passes and 1 subsidiary pass.
Graduation requirements
- To graduate a student shall be required to take and pass ALL scheduled courses within the stipulated period.
Course duration
- The program takes four years
