Akoko leaving her children behind to go back to her people. Her hast decision makes her even forget to consult the chief,her husband. It is essential for us to learn on how to control our anger since it can motivate one to make irrational and regrettable decisions without forethought.(portrayed in chapter 5 of the book).
Nyabera gets deeply hurt when the matter of a man by the name Ogoma Kwach is taken to the council of Jodongo. After deliberation,she decides to seek alternative means of comfort which was finding Pilipo-the drunkard,to get a little insight about Christianity. She was inducted into Christianity where she thistly learned the ways of the new religion and finally baptized Maria.(this is potrayed in chapter two of the book).
