a good counselor should be able to listen and clearly explain their thoughts to their listeners.

(3) Problem-solving skills
a good counselor, however tough a situation may be, should help a person change behavior and decisions that might be dangerous.

(4) Acceptance
a good counselor accommodates any condition of clients so that they do not feel pre-judged by the counselor.

(5) Self-awareness
a good counselor must understand their own weakness, strengths, emotions and attitudes so as not to affect the clients.

(6) Respect
a good counselor should respect the issues and welfare of clients to convince them feel confident and comfortable.

(7) Congruence
a good counselor ought to be welcoming, friendly and create a close relationship with the clients to enable them feel reassured and encouraged.
