Whenever you switch on the system unit and monitor's power buttons,the computer undergoes a process called
power-On-self-test(POST)by obeying instructions from the BIOS firmware
During POST, the computer checks if its components are connected properly and whether they are functioning
or not.Incase of any hardware/software fault,the computer displays an error message on the screen
indicating the status of all devices on the computer.
When POST is successful,the operating system is loaded into the random access memory.
BIOS is firmware that directs the entire POST process
