Measure the total area of the habitat. Mark out the study area. At a random, throw the quadrats in the study area. Identify and label the various species of the plants in the quadrat, then count plants of each species and record the numbers. Make several throws in the study area at a random and repeat the process, then work out the average per quadrat for each species in the area. Calculate the population for the population for the total area of study.
