take a strong bar and determine its center of gravity using the ruler.
hang the 10kg weight from one end and the sack of potatoes from the other end.
On balancing, the amount of sack of potatoes will be also 10kg,


alternatively, using the measuments of lenth from the point of pivot, at c.o.g we can calculate the weight of potato sacks using principle of moment.
