• Language can be barrier to communication when using foreign language, differences in dialects and differences in regional accents.
• Poor timing. Communication can be ineffective if the massage is not sent at the right time it is supposed to be sent.
• Communication can be ineffective if there is poor listening.
• A wrong medium of communication can be a barrier to communication. For example if you want to send a message to the hearing impaired you can’t use telephones.
• Emotional response such as those resulting from anger or excitement may lead to distortion of messages.
• Noise may make communication difficult.
• If there is mistrust and prejudice among the parties involved, there may be deliberate or unintentional misunderstanding of the message.
