(i) It deals with the matters that require interpretation of the constitution.

(ii) Has power to call for the record of any proceedings before any subordinate courts or person,authority or body in order to give direction it considers appropriate to ensure to ensure administration or justice.

(iii) It has power to hear appeals from a decision of a tribunal and subordinate courts.

(iv) It performs a supervisory function over subordinate courts and over other bodies or authorities exercising judicial or quasi judicial functions.

(v) It has unlimited original jurisdiction on the criminal and civil cases.

(vi) It determines the disputes involving violation of fundamental Human Rights.

(vii) It can supervise civil and criminal proceedings in subordinate courts.
