2.The peak discharge from the rivers that supply the scheme occurs in July and this coincides with peak irrigation water demand.
3.Drying of rice is under the sun and this arrangement allows the harvest period also to coincide with favorable weather conditions.
4.During the planting period more labor is required and this labor can be supplied by children who are on holiday.
