Taper Tap: In this tap about six threads are tapered and is used to start the thread, so that the
threads are formed gradually as the tap is turned into the hole.

Second tap: It is tapered back from the edge about three or four threads used after taper tap. It
has been used to cut the threads as far as possible.

Bottom Tap: It has full threads for the whole of its length. This is used to finish the work
prepared by the other two taps.
