1. Relative size
If two or more objects are seen to be equal or similar the object that appears larger is perceived to be closer.

2. Inter-position
When one object blocked another object, the partially blocked object is perceived to be further away.

3. Aerial perspective
Objects that are further away appear to be blurred or hazy

4. Texture gradient
Areas with sharp detailed textures are interpreted as being closer while those with less details are perceived as being further away

5. Linear perspective
Parallel lines appear to meet in the distance. The closer they seem to be the greater the perceptional distance.

6. Motion parallels
When in a moving object nearby objects seem to move faster than distant objects.

7. Light and shadow
Brightly lit objects appear closer while objects and shadows appear further away
