There are several ways in which agriculture can lead (indirectly) to creation of employment
opportunities.They include:
- When farmers are able to produce more on their farms with subsequent incomes then farming will provide full time employment for farmers. There will be no need for the farmer to look for alternative employment to supplement his income.
- Labor demands will be higher and therefore, more people will get employment.
- Need for transportation services.
- Employment for middleman and retailers who will deal with marketing of surplus agricultural produce.
- Creation of industries to process farm products. These industries will employ a lot of people.
- The farmers and other people will generally have more money to spend, hence other businesses and services are going to thrive e.g farmers’ families will need better foods, clothes, entertainment, grooming etc.
