The trait approach assumes we can identify individual differences in behavior that are relatively stable across situations and over a time. Trait theorists usually are not concerned with any one person’s behavior but rather in describing behavior typical of people at certain points along trait continuum. It has been argued that human personality is so varied that it won’t fit into discrete categories. Personality traits are simply: Actions, Attitudes, and Behaviors one possess. Trait theorists hold that personality characteristics exist along a continuum.
