Analytical chemistry is defined as the identification and determination of the relative amount of a substance.
Analytical chemistry is involved in the following areas:
(1)Research activities - it is used in research industries to determine metabolic activities in human bodies.
(2)Disease diagnosis - it is used in health industry to determine the ammount of glucose in the urine of a diabetic.
(3)Quality control- Analytical chemistry is used in food processsing industries to determine the stated value and also the finished products.
(4)Health hazard- used to determine the ammount of carbon(ii) oxide and sulphur(iv) oxide emitted during charcoal burning.
(5)Economic value- Analytical chemistry is also used in determining of the ammount of Gold and silver in a coin.
