A temporary slides is a specimen that is prepared for immediate use (viewing)in the laboratory using a microscope. During preparation of temporary slides; thin slides are made so that they can allow light to pass through when illuminuted for them to be observed.
The slides are mixed with a colored dye so that all the components of cells making up the slides can be clearly distinguishable.
