-Star topology – all communication devices are connected to a central hub.
-Ring topology – all communication components are connected each to a single cable forming a
ring.
-Mesh topology – this topology uses separate cable to connect each device to every other devices
on the network providing a straight communication path.
-Tree/Hierarchical topology – all nodes in this topology are connected in form of a tree with nodes
leaves and links as branches. The transmission medium is a branching cable with no closed loops.
-Bus topology – all devices are connected to a central cable called the bus or backbone.
Transmission and reception of a message is done by all the nodes.
