What constitutes unhealthy sexual lifestyle is debatable and may vary from one culture to another. However, sexual behaviours that put people at risk of compromising their health can be perceived as unhealthy sexual lifestyle. One dominant unhealthy sexual lifestyle in our contemporary society is having sex with multiple partners. This sexual lifestyle predisposes people to sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS. Other behaviours that can be conceptualised as unhealthy sexual behaviours depending on sociocultural backgrounds include: underage sex; premarital sex; extra-marital sex; defilement and rape, incest, homosexuality.
