Participants are asked to remove their heavy outer garments (jacket, coat)
and shoes. make them empty the pockets of their trousers or skirt.
1. Make the subject calm
2. Ensure they are standing straight and not checking on the readings
3. The participant stands in the centre of the platform, weight distributed evenly to
both feet. Standing off-centre may affect measurement
4. You can take the readin1g from sideway or from front to minimize of the observer
errors
5. Consider and minimize intra-observer errors (e.g., angle of scale, patient not
looking at the scale, time of day, stepping with both legs on the centre of scale)
6. Take the measurements twice and calculate the average.
7. Record the measurement immediately and to the nearest 0.1 kg
