• It is an outline not an essay. Plan should be on the desk to merely be a reminder of the way the work of the classroom will be carried out while the class is in progress
• The plan for teaching must at all times be kept flexible, a number of alternative procedures should be provided for the lesson plan
• It should be prepared far enough in advance of its use to give it time to stick in the teachers head. The preparation of the lesson plan is not something that can be done at the last minute,
• It should both guide and reflect teacher-pupil planning. If the lesson plan represent only the thinking of the teacher, then the claim that real teacher-student planning exist is false.
