I. To allow them to grasp basic manual operations which are important in solving complex problems without a calculator.
II. To avoid dependency.
If students are allowed to use calculators from form 1 they over rely on the calculator to do even the simplest of operations.

Doing operations manually, encourages information retention
Iv. To allow students to get used to solving complex problems.
Students are sometimes afraid solve problems with big numbers e.g.(6.234X 0.0831). Using calculators will not allow them to overcome this fear.
