Simple motor vehicle maintenance tips before starting your journey

A motor vehicle service is a series of maintenance procedures carried out at a set time interval or after the vehicle has traveled a certain distance. The series interval are specified by the vehicle manufacturer in a service schedule and some modern cars display the due date for the next service electronically on the instrument panel. The completed services are usually recorded in a service book which is rubber stumped by the service centre upon completion of each service.

Before i give you the maintenance tasks commonly carried out here are some few routine task to check in the morning before you drive out:

a) Ensure you check the water level in the radiator.
b) check the oil level and brake fluid.
c) check the tyres if they are well inflated.
d) Ensure that there is enough fuel.
e) ignite the engine for sometime,this will allow the oil to heat up and circulate in the engine and hence lubricate the system to avoid friction. After ensuring that every thing is in place you can then drive. Also ensure your vehicle is serviced regularly as per the set time interval. This maintenance service involves the following tasks: change the engine oil, replace the oil filter,replace the air filter,replace the fuel filter,replace spark plugs, tune the engine,check level and refill power steering fluid,check level and refill automatic transmission fluid, grease and lubricate components, inspect and replace timing belt if needed and check condition of the tyres. Mechanical parts that may cause the car to cease transmission or prove unsafe for the road are also noted and advised upon. SAFE DRIVE.
