Ingredients
(serves 4)
1 cup of rice
2 cups of cold water
1 tablespoon oil
1 baby marrow, diced
4 cloves of garlic crashed
1/2 ginger chopped
1 onion sliced
2 dhanias
2 tomatoes
2 carrots sliced
3 green bananas, peeled and sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
3 medium arrowroot diced
1/2 medium sized pumpkin diced
1/2kg potatoes diced
preparation
put pan on fire add oil, onions, garlic and ginger and let cook. Add tomatoes and stir until tomatoes cook. Add pumpkins, arrowroots, potatoes and continue stirring for around three minutes. Add carrots, green bananas and baby marrow, and let it cook for two minutes. Add cold water and bring to boil. Add clean rice, dhania, and green pepper, and stir for a while to ensure the ingredients mix. Let the water evaporate then put off the fire. Leave covered for approximate five minutes then serve hot.
Kitchen tip. Add turmeric powder to your dull coloured cooked foods such as rice spaghetti or bananas to make them yellow.
Kitchen safety. Always dress in fire safety clothes while cooking, not loose clothes such as a nightgown and bathrobe, which can easily catch fire.
