A customer and a business enterprise are intertwined. They are inseparable and are dependent on each other.

A customer is a beneficiary of the business enterprise's goods and services. He or she consumes the goods or services produced or offered by the business enterprise. A business enterprise's day to day operations largely depend on the revenues realized from the sales of goods or services.

It is the customer who purchases the goods or services. The customer is thus very important to a business enterprise and the role that he/she plays in the success or failure of a business enterprise is significant and cannot be underestimated.
