i) A candidate must have a mean aggregate of at least grade B – (minus);
and
(ii) The mean grade for the total score in the four cluster subjects must be at least B (plain);
and
(iii) In the individual cluster subjects, a candidate must have at least the scores given below:

II. Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) or the A-level equivalent should satisfy all the requirements below:
(i) At least two principal passes in Mathematics and Physics; and
(ii) At least a total score of nine(9) points at the KACE or equivalent; and
(iii) At least a credit pass in chemistry at the KCE or its equivalent.

III. Diploma applicants:
A candidate must be a holder of JKUAT diploma in engineering with at least a credit pass in the relevant discipline. Diploma holders will normally be admitted into the second year of study.

IV. A holder of other qualifications recognized by the Senate as equivalent to I, II or III above.

Duration:5 YEARS
Those willing to take this course should have the following requirements:
KCSE Mean Grade B- and Mean grade for the total score in the four JAB cluster subjects of at least B (plain), and the following minimum grades in the individual cluster subjects: ALTERNATIVE A-Mathematics C+, Physics C+, Chemistry C+ and Geography or Biology, or any Group IV C+ALTERNATIVE BMathematics C+, Physical sciences B, Biological Sciences C+ and Geography or any of Group IV C+ OR (KACE) two principals passes in Mathematics and Physics, and at least a total score of nine (9) points, and at least a credit pass in chemistry at the KCE or Diploma applicants holding JKUAT University Diploma with at least a credit pass in the relevant discipline, such applicants will be eligible to join the second year of study OR ordinary Diploma Or Ordinary Diploma Or Higher National Diploma with credit pass in relevant discipline. Such applicants will be eligible to join the third year of study.
