(i) Growth
-Due to high temperatures, forests grow faster and mature fast in Kenya unlike in Canada where
they take long due to cold climate.
-Deep well developed volcanic soils in Kenya favours fast growth while thin soils in Canada leads to
slow tree growth.
(ii) Tree species
-In Kenya both exotic and indigenous tree species are cultivated, while in Canada Only indigenous
species are cultivated.
(iii) Problems
-In Canada large tracts of forests are destroyed by fire mostly caused by lightning while in Kenya
forest fire are caused by man i.e smokers/honey harvesters.
-Forests in Northern Canada are inaccessible in winter due to snow rugged terrain, while in Kenya
forests suffer muddy impassable roads in rainy seasons.
