The equation of a straight line L₁ is given by 2y + 8x - 10 = 0. Another line L₂ cuts L₁ at right angles such that the point of intersection of the two lines has coordinates (-3,k).
(a) Find the value of k
(b) Hence find the equation of L₂

Answers

2y + 8x - 10 => y = 4x + 5

M₁ = -1

L₂g m2x - 4 = -1

M₂ = + $\frac{1}{4}$

2k + 8 (-3) _+ 0

K = 17

G = $\frac{1}{4}$

$\frac{x - 17}{x - -3}$ = $\frac{1}{4}$

4y = x + 71

4y - x - 71 = 0
