1) It is Psychological- it is concerned with the intrinsic forces operating within an individual which impel him to act or not to act in a particular way.
2)It's dynamic and continuous process as it deals with human beings who are ever changing entities, modifying themselves every moment hence people must at all times be provided with a stimulus because the satisfaction of one need gives rise to another need.
3) A good motivation system releases the immense and untapped reserves of physical and mental capabilities or capacities.
4) A number of studies has shown that motivation plays a crucial role in determining the level of performance.
5) By satisfying human needs motivation helps in increasing productivity.
6) Effective motivation helps to overcome resistance to change and negative attitude on the part of employees and students. For example, introduction of hardship allowance by TSC has helped yo retain teachers in hardship areas.
7) Motivation helps to solve the central problem of management thus the effective use of human resource.
8) Effective motivation creates job satisfaction which brings good relationship between employers and employees and it reduces industrial disputes,absenteeism and other vices at the work place.
