Lesson learned from the story of Jesus visit to Jerusalem?

Answer: The prophecy of Zechariah 9:9 quoted in Matthew 21:5 predicted that Israel's King would come riding on a donkey, therefore Jesus was deliberately fulfilling this prophecy as an open demonstration of His Messianic identity.

All three Synoptic Gospels record the careful procurement of the donkey and her colt; John does not record this part, but he quotes Zachariah 9:9 along with the Synoptics. This is the only time that the bible ever records that Jesus traveled any other way than by walking.
