The temperatures of a place near the sea tend to be modified. Summers are cooler in the coastal regions than in the interior because of the cold onshore winds that blow from the sea. As the winds advance inland, they adapt the temperature of the land over which they pass, thus becoming warmer. That is why continental interiors tend to be warmer.
Winters in the coastal regions tend to be warmer because of the warming effect of the onshore winds, whereas continental interiors tend to be severely cold.
