Kenya comprising more than 40 ethnic groups, ethnic wars and conflict are a common occurrence. All arising from weak caused but bitterly fueled by different in language one speak. Its hard to hear of an outbreak of war between two groups from one ethnic group. But does this means there is no conflict between one person and another of his own language.
Ethnicity is the main reason during elections that our fellow Kenyans much often are freed from their homes. Let's think of this, two close competitors of an electoral seat from one ethnic group receives the outcomes of an election. There will in most circumstances be no any tention in that reffered community.
But now think of a two guys, each from different community. After elections one wins with a great margin. Rumors of rigging never lacks. There follows a tension that in most cases ends into a bitter war.
In Kenya elections have been there and will come may be even until Jesus returns. But does this means there will be ethnic wars till the coming of Jesus?
We don't have to ask the government to stop elections neither will we say we will never vote. We have just to deny and with much concern differ to base our differences on grounds of our mother languages. We have to know that we are all brothers and sisters in the eyes of the Lord. To end these bitter culture, Kenyans has to only denounce their ethnic differences for a better tomorrow.
