ii) They were devastated by natural calamities which greatly weakened them like animal and human disease

iii) The British got reinforcement from some African communities such as the Wanga and Maasai to fight luo

iv) The British had large, well trained, disciplined and co-ordinated army while Luo lacked large and well trained warriors.

v) The British used ruthless and brutal methods to fight the Luo through punitive expeditions and scorched earth policy

vi) The British had more powerful and modern arms/ weapons while the Luo used traditional ones with devastating effects.
