iii) The British got reinforcement from some African communities such as the Wanga and Maasai to fight luo

iv) The British had large, well trained, disciplined and co-ordinated army while Luo lacked large and well trained warriors.

v) The British used ruthless and brutal methods to fight the Luo through punitive expeditions and scorched earth policy
