Features such as caves, gorges form good tourist attractions. The tourists who visit such areas pay foreign income which is used to improve roads, communication lines and social amenities in such regions hence improving the living standards of the locals
Limestone regions form good grazing regions especially for sheep.
The collapse of dolines into water tables leads to the creation of lakes which provide water both for domestic and industrial use.
Limestone from such regions is used in the cement manufacturing industries. Mining activities in such regions lead to urbanisation of such regions hence bringing the locals closer to essential social amenities.
