(a) Diversification of the economy
Establishment of many industries in the country assists in diversifying the economy. Kenya mainly depends on agriculture. Kenya has therefore tried to diversify her economy by establishing several manufacturing and processing industries in urban centres such as Nairobi, Mombasa and Thika
(b) Fostering good international relations.
Industrial products enable a country to engage in international trade which enables people of different countries to interact. This fosters good relationships between the trading partners as none would want to spoil that trading relationship.
(c) Formation of cooperative societies.
The establishment of many industries in different parts of the country has led to the formation of cooperative societies. People who work in these industries have formed these cooperative societies in order to access credit facilities. They also save their money with these cooperative societies. The workers are able to get loans which they use to start small projects or generally enhance their living standards.
(d) Growth of settlements
The establishment of manufacturing and processing industries in various regions has led to the growth of settlements. This has led to the development of such areas since social amenities are provided.
