Insecurity at an ECDE center may be caused by the following factors:
•Poor security structures -some ECDE centers may be poorly organized in terms of management hence affecting the security structures of the center, rendering it insecure.
•Untrusted entities – in the event where those employed to ensure security of the ECDE are not trusted, there is high risk of insecurity.
•Maltreatment of security personnel- when security employees are mistreated in any way, they tend to relax in their duty thus rendering the center insecure.
•Ignorant neighborhood- an ECDE center bordering a community that has no efforts to ensure security of children endangers security of the center.
•Unstable society- a society lacking peace and security may cause insecurity of an ECDE center.
•Illegally established ECDE center- an instance where the center is established on illegal land poses insecurity to the center generally.
