Fold mountains affect climate in the following ways;
1. Influence precipitation
Fold mountains change the type and amount of precipitation received in an area.
For example, fold mountains can result to high rainfall received on the windward sides of the mountains.
The windward sides of the mountains also experience prevailing moist air masses.

2. Affect humidity
Fold mountains determine the quantity of water in the air. This results to wet conditions on the wind facing slopes and dry conditions on the leeward side of the mountains.

3. Affect winds systems
Fold mountains which are high may influence the course of wind.
Fold mountains being a barrier on the path of winds affects the strength of wind.
