1. Most oil producing countries export petroleum in crude form because of the following reasons;
-lack of adequate equipment to process crude oil
-it is cheaper to export crude oil than processed oil
-it is safer to transport crude oil
-it is easier to handle petroleum crude form
-many countries receiving the oil desire to get it in crude form.

2. Say place X has its time as 4:30 pm, while place Y at 45 degrees East is 1:00 pm.
X at 4:30 pm is ahead of Y(45 degrees East, 1:00 pm)
Difference in time = (4:30-1:00)pm
= 3hours 30 minutes
= 210 minutes

4 minutes = 1 degree
210 minutes = __ degrees?

210/4 = 52.5 degrees
therefore, place X is 52.5 degrees away to the East of place Y,

Place X = 45+52.5
= 97.5 degrees
The place whose local time is 4:30 pm is at longitude 97.5 degrees East.
