Advantages:

i). Are portable and easy to transport.

ii) convenient and can be used anywhere of choice.

iii).are operated by hand with the right hand turning the handle

of the machine, making them are easy to work.

iv).There are also sewing machines designed for left-handed people.

v). They are cheaper than other types of machines (treadle or the electric sewing machines.)

Disadvantages

i). Are slower than other types of machines.

ii). The user has only one free hand to guide the work while sewing with the other hand.

iii). They are very rare and not popular to users.

iv).They do not have table for working on therefore requires one to be prepared
