The primary routes were:
The western route: the route started at fez in morocco and went through Sijilmas then Toghaza, Timbuktu, Audaghast and ended in the Niger belt
The central route: the route began in Tunis through Ghat, Agades and Kano and ended within the Hausa state. The route started in Tripoli then went through Murzuk, Bilma and finally ended in Njimi in Karnem Bomu.
The three secondary routes are:
From Sijilmas to Andes through Tuat
From Walata to Takedda passing through Timbuktu and Gao
From Cairo joining the eastern route in Murzuk
