What is the relationship between the Old Testament prophecies and the New Testament?

Give the relationship between the Old Testament prophecies and the New Testament.

(i) The prophecy of the suffering servant in the Old Testament is fulfilled through the passion and death of Jesus Christ.

(ii) John the Baptist's coming brought the Old Testament era to an end and ushered in a new era as the greatest of all prophets.

(iii) The theme of salvation history in the Old Testament becomes a reality in the New Testament in the person of Jesus Christ.

(iv) Jesus upheld the Law of Moses and asserted that He did not come to abolish the Law but to fulfil it.

(v) The prophets in the Old Testament condemned insincere worship and elaborate sacrificial rituals.
Likewise, in the New Testament, Jesus condemned outward observances of the Law without good intent which led to hypocrisy.

(vi) Jesus gave the Law a deeper meaning and set up higher standards than those contained in the Law of Moses.

(vii) The coming of John the Baptist fulfilled the Old Testament prophecy of a forerunner to prepare for the coming of Messiah.

(viii) The Old Testament prophecy of the coming of a Messiah who would bring salvation to Israel is echoed by Simeon and Anna, the prophetess, in the Temple where they saw the child, Jesus.

(ix) Nathan's prophecy to King David of the great descendant who would establish an everlasting kingdom is affirmed by the Angel Gabriel's message during the annunciation.

(x) The prophecy of the new covenant in the Old Testament was inaugurated by Jesus during the Last Supper.

(xi) The idea of suffering servant, prophecied by Isaiah was strange to the Jews of Jesus' time because they expected a conquering one.
