(i) They were appointed as administrators in their communities hence played an influential role to their subjects in the spread of the Islamic culture such as mode of dressing, housing and greetings that were influenced by the Arabs.
(ii) They accepted the establishment of mosques and madrassas as symbols for Islamic identity.
(iii) Their political and economic position in the society made them have wider social interactions with their subjects and this made them to be gradually attracted to Islam.
(iv) They accorded Muslims hospitality and allowed them to establish inland trading posts.
(v) They embraced Islam and this influenced their subjects to convert to Islam.
(vi) They practiced polygamy, increasing the Muslim population.
