-This is the number one cereal crop grown in both tropical and temperate countries.
-Different wheat species originated from different locations of the world but mainly around the fertile crescents like Syria, Turkey, Iraq, Kujikaltin, and Afghanistan. First wheat seeds were traced way back in 5500 BC. In Africa wheat was first seen in Ethiopia in 5000BC. From Ethiopia it spread to the East and North Africa and finally found its way to America and Germany.
