When assessing children with special needs through observation, the following ways may be used for the study;
1.observing an individual child with more concern on a specific area of progress such as social interaction
2. the whole group of children to asses if all the children have mastered a uniform skill such as jumping with two feet together.
3. an area of the study room to asses whether the area is well used and what kind of interactions take place in the area
4.a group of children among the whole to focus on one or more areas such as abilities to share what they own
5. a practitioner to asses an areas of professional skill such as appropriateness of interactions with the children.
