How to register as a new student in Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT)

It is every joy of a graduate of high school to join the university of their choice and to do the course that they like.However, registering as a new student in a university might not be easy since everyone is treated as an adult. The process of registering tend to take long especially if you do not know how to go about it. In the university of Jomo Kenyatta of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT),those students who do not know how to register and fear asking, take even more than a day to finish registering. I am going to take you through the steps of registration in jkuat.

First and foremost, I assume that you have an admission letter from JKUAT. The admission letter clearly indicates the course that you are going to do in JKUAT. The admission letter has your registration number on top of the letter.It also indicates which department you belong for example College of Human Resource and Development (COHRED).This is the first step which is to know your department.Please note that that is where you will go on that day of registration.On reaching you will find someone who will confirm if you belong to that department .After confirming that you belong to that department, he/she will give you a piece of paper that you will be required to fill in your official names, registration number ,the course you are admitted to and in the end sign after that you will be required to return the piece of paper to that person who gave you and he/she will put a stamp so that you can proceed to the second step.

The second step is the finance department.In this department you will be required to submit the form that indicates that you have paid the school fees and other relevant payment.Then

after that you will submit the piece of paper that you had earlier been given.The person at the finance will put a stamp so that you can move to the third step.

The third step is signing of nominal roll. Note that you must sign your nominal roll in your department.At this point what happens is that they check if you had uploaded the forms that you were told in the admission letter correctly.If you had not uploaded them correctly you will be required to go back and do the whole process again.If you had uploaded well, a stamp will put and you will proceed to the next step.

The next step is biometric registration. At this point you will be required to give out your fingerprints so that they can appear in their system every time they would want to know if it is you.After this you will proceed to the final step.

The final step is medical which will take place in jkuat hospital.Here you will be required to submit your chest X- RAY,hepatitis vaccination card/certificate (mandatory for students in COHES) and NHIF card or medical insurance number.After you have submitted all this, the doctor will sign that now you are confirmed to be a student of JKUAT.

From there you will now have finished your registration.
